Project Manager

Reports To: Sr. Project Manager/Division Manager

Status: Regular, Full Time, Exempt

Primary Function: Provide overall and complete management direction for existing projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following list is an outline of duties and responsibilities attached to this position. It is understood that this list is intended to be representative of the functions that may reasonably be expected of the position. It is not intended to be comprehensive.

1. Provide overall direction for assigned construction projects to include: budget, schedule, change orders, and customer relations.

2. Manage both company crews and sub-contractor crews, providing direction when necessary.

3. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy.

4. Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.

5. Monitor/Control construction through administrative direction of on-site supervisor(s) to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.

6. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

7. Represent company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, etc.

8. Manage all financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good business relationship with the client.

9. Ensure all safety requirements are met.

10. May perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

1. B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
2. Must have 8-12 years experience as a Project Manager within the commercial/private construction industry.
3. Must have 8-12 years experience fully managing construction projects to include all aspects such as: scheduling, budgets, customer relations, change orders, and handling issues/problems that arise with exceptional resolution.
4. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
5. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills are essential.
6. Significant business skill required.
7. Excellent leadership and analytical skills are mandatory.
